Photography always naturally slows down in the colder months, which is a nice break after all that fall photography but boy how I have missed it! Because I’m a natural light photographer, I always forget that I can do indoor photos! Claire’s boho cake smash was the perfect excuse to buy myself an ultra adorable new backdrop from https://www.katebackdrop.com.

As soon as I got to Claires house I knew it would be a…SMASHing hit. It had to be said 😂. Their sunroom was outfitted with brand new white, sheer curtains (a godsend for photographers) and Claire was all smiles! Now I’ve done quite a few cake smashes and you never know how the kiddos are going to react. Will they go face first and get a face full of icing? Will they poke at it timidly and then lose interest?

As soon as the cake was in front of her, Claire went all in! Her mom let me in on a secret and told me that she had given her a cupcake the week prior to get her used to sweets. It must have done the trick because I don’t think I’ve ever seen a baby dig into a cake quite like this kiddo!
