You know those people in your life who are just extra af and you adore them for it? That would be Sarah! I met her and her adorable family a little over a year ago and she just kills it (pun intended) with every single shoot! When she reached out to me about doing a ‘death to my 20s’ theme, I was stoked! I myself am a little extra at times and I just LOVE a dramatic theme! Seriously, bring me all your unicorn, fairy, laying in the river ideas!
I have been dying (ok I promise, no more puns 😅) to do a shoot with confetti and of course Sarah brought not only confetti, but balloons, champagne, a hat, a tiara, smoke bombs and her amazing mom to help her wrangle all of it. Shout out to Sarah’s mom, Lorraine, the MVP!
I remember back in my teens thinking that 30 sounded awful. It’s so…old! I can’t help but laugh at myself. I think the biggest secret in life is that aging is amazing! Sure, our bodies change, but the beautiful thing is that our minds do too.
We realize that 30 is in no way old. We start to prioritize the important things in life and begin to actually enjoy being responsible because you’ve learned that it has benefit. You start to see your parents in a new light because you can now understand why they didn’t let you leave the house in that short skirt or gave you a ridiculous curfew.
Being 30 means enjoying time at home, having good, true friends and a confidence to be yourself. 30 means knowing how many drinks you can have before you climb on stage and do the macarena at the company Christmas party. 30 is the time when you can really look around and be thankful for all you have and all you’ve accomplished.
Happy death to your 20s, Sarah! You’re 30, flirty and thriving!
